Shayna (right) made a friend and had plenty of place to run around and
explore as much as we needed to just stay put and relax she needed to run and play. Our stay in St. Phillips was just what the doctor ordered. |
| Great friends make for great times. The smiles are only surpassed by the hospitality and genuine warmness of the people here and is Newfoundland's most wonderful asset. Long may yer big jib draw! | ![]() |

Signal
Hill overlooks St. John's Harbor. At the top of the hill is Cabot Tower, built in 1897 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of Newfoundland and the 60th year of Queen Victoria's reign. It was from a spot just below the tower that Guglielmo Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal on December 12, 1901 ushering in the modern world of telecommunications. |
| St. John's, Newfoundland from the top of Signal Hill, Its name is derived from the feast day of St. John the Baptist, because it was on that day in 1497 that Giovanni Caboto, or John Cabot, sighted the New-Founde-Land. Originally called St. John's Bay, the perfectly sheltered harbour drew explorers and fishermen here in the 1500s. | ![]() |
